"Wholesaler of restorable collectible radio and audio to the collector/restorer and dealers internationally since 1980."
Condition
If you expect to buy any item , plug it in and use it on a regular basis you're on the wrong website.
The target customer of John Kendall's Vintage Electronics is the Collector/Restorer, i.e., a person with significant electronics experience, or at least the guidance of a person with significant electronics experience, who wants to do his/her own cosmetic and/or electronic restoration. The buyer can expect to have to, at least, clean the contacts of most of the vintage devices sold here. Often the replacement of some electronic components will be required.
All devices are offered in as-found condition meaning no repair has been attempted.
Unless noted otherwise the devices are briefly tested and the results are noted.
Any cosmetic defects on the case or chassis are noted and photographed if possible to show the defect.
Overall appearance of items is rated as Mint(almost never), Excellent, Very Good(more common),
Good, Fair or Poor.
Electronic problems such as dead, hum, distortion, smoke, etc will also be noted.
"Working" in the description is meant more to reassure the Collector/Restorer that the device is not going to go up in smoke as soon as it's powered up than to indicate that it's ready to use.
After reading my descriptions you might think I sell nothing but junk because I put the spotlight on what is wrong with the radio rather than try to make it appear better than it is.
There is a reason for that........
If you're going to be surprised when you receive an item from me I want it to be a pleasant surprise.
